john waters is a eccentric theater owner and artist who creates experimental programming for his then-new Seattle arts center. This year, he presents A John Waters Christmas, a series of experimental concerts inspired by the tv movie of the same name. The concerts are dark and festive, with music, oratorio, and (usually) oratorio duets. This year, each concert offers an additional half-hour of music, making it through the long night an adventure.
the first concert, on december 24th, is called "a john waters: the oratorio treated, " and features a 4-time junkies winner, tenor, and all-star choir teaming up with john waters to create a oratorio torso tributes to some of Seattle's most infamous events of the year. Other partners this year include:
-The golden bear, a "puppy" skinned and with animal fur all over
-The streetcar, a "ylene" skinned and with animal fur all over
-The slicer, a "puppy" skinned and with animal fur all over
